What Is a Glass Nectar Collector?

Glass Nectar Collector

Glass Nectar Collector in 2011 by Jefe Zobell and Kristian Merwin, the Glass Nectar Collector—also known as a honey straw—is a small device used to consume cannabis concentrates. Its name stems from its resemblance to a hummingbird’s beak as it dips into a flower. Today, there are a variety of nectar collectors available in different shapes, sizes and materials. These simple, easy-to-use devices can save you money on dab rigs and provide the same quality of vapor. They also work great for microdosing or managing your tolerance.

A typical nectar collector consists of a silicone or glass mouthpiece, a heated tip to touch the wax or shatter, and a dish to hold the concentrate. Some models feature additional parts like percs, which elongate the vapor path and cool the vapor before it enters your throat.

High-Quality Oil Burner Rigs for the Serious User

Glass nectar collectors are popular for their authentic experience, but they’re not as portable as an electronic model. For dabbers who value convenience and don’t want to carry a torch with them, an electric nectar collector is ideal.

When cleaning a nectar collector, it’s essential to disassemble the piece before you soak it. Put the tip, mouthpiece and body of the nectar collector in separate resealable plastic bags. Add isopropyl alcohol and a pinch of salt to each bag, then shake. This will literally scrape the caked-on resin off the pieces. Then, let each component soak for up to an hour, rinse and dry completely before reassembling.
